Hollywood actor and director David Schwimmer was born David Lawrence Schwimmer on November 2, 1966 in Astoria, Queens, New York. His passion for acting started when he was still young, which made him decide to take up theater during his college years. In 1988, he and his colleagues founded the Lookingglass Theatre Company in Chicago, Illinois.
It was also in the 1990s when David Schwimmer started to become a popular television actor because of his portrayal of paleontologist Doctor Ross Geller in the television program "Friends." It was this television show that launched the acting careers of David Schwimmer and his co-stars. Fortunately for David Schwimmer, he was the first of all the "Friends" cast to earn a nomination from an award-giving body.
Not content with showcasing his talent in acting, David Schwimmer was also given the chance to direct ten successful episodes of "Friends."
Although he has also done several motion pictures during the peak of his career as Doctor Ross Geller, he was not recognized the way he was recognized in "Friends." The only project he has done that gained him recognition was his role in the television series titled "Band of Brothers."
Some of the motion pictures where he appeared in include "Hotel," "Curb Your Enthusiasm," "Picking Up the Pieces," 'Love & Sex," "It's the Rage," "Apt Pupil," "Six Days Seven Nights," "Kissing a Fool," "Big Nothing," and "Wolf."
Aside from "Friends," he also appeared in other television shows, such as "A Deadly Silence," "Uprising," "Since You've Been Gone," "Monty," and "The Wonder Years."
After ten years, the "Friends" management decided to end its success for good. This allowed David Schwimmer to have a lot more free time now compared when he and his co-stars were still taping. This also allowed him to spend more of his time playing poker in casinos in Las Vegas, Nevada.
This celebrity poker player participated in the show "Celebrity Poker Showdown" in order to showcase his poker skills. Moreover, this celebrity poker player also decided to create a motion picture about, what else, but poker with fellow celebrity poker player Ben Affleck. The motion picture is a documentary that talks about these two celebrity poker players' obsession with Hold'Em.
This celebrity poker player is really serious about improving his poker skills even more. In fact, it may not surprise other celebrity poker players if they see David Schwimmer playing against professional poker players at the World Series of Poker or the World Poker Tour.
